Project funded under the Rural Development Programme 2014–2020 of the Apulia Region, Article 35 of Regulation (EU) No. 1305/2013, Measure 16 “Cooperation” – Sub-measure 16.2 “Support for pilot projects and the development of new products, practices, processes and technologies.”

The project developed a methodological and technological framework for assisted production and harvesting in agriculture, aimed at increasing yields, enhancing environmental sustainability, and improving product quality, without the use of substances harmful to human health. At the same time, it promotes the rational use of increasingly scarce natural resources such as water and soil, while reducing production costs.

The developed system consists of an indoor cultivation structure for vegetables and flowers, supported by innovative monitoring and cultivation techniques. It integrates a network of IoT sensors  Artificial Intelligence and a robotic fertigation unit, designed to be economically accessible even to small-scale producers.

The system is capable of automatically implementing field decisions based on data collected from sensors deployed both inside and outside the cultivation facilities. It includes Artificial Intelligence modules that propose optimal crop system configurations, also taking into account synergistic agriculture practices.

Furthermore, the system is modular and scalable at an industrial level.
