
Metronis: Intelligent Irrigation and Fertigation
METRONIS is an intelligent monitoring and precision fertigation system designed to maximize agronomic efficiency while reducing waste and environmental impact. Through the integration of advanced sensing technologies, smart actuators, and an AI-based decision engine, METRONIS delivers exactly what is needed, precisely where it is needed.
The METRONIS has been designed as a modular platform,where each component integrates seamlessly with the others to form a single, scalable, and fully integrated solution.
As illustrated in the adjacent figure, the three core modules complement each other, while the digital services (AI, App, and Digital Twin) support and enhance their functionality, fitting together like pieces of a single puzzle.
The puzzle concept also demonstrates how each module integrates perfectly with the others,allowing customers to start with the SENSE module only and progressively add additional components until achieving the complete solution.
1.Measure with Precision: METRONIS-SENSE

METRONIS-SENSE represents the first building block and the foundation of the entire platform.
Thanks to multi-sensor IoT nodes installed in the field, SENSE monitors in real time the key parameters of soil and growing substrates, including:
- Moisture, temperature, and pH
- Electrical conductivity
- Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), and Potassium (K) levels
This module constitutes the essential foundation for the operation of the entire system.
Irrigate only when needed: METRONIS-FLOW

This is the second module, designed to integrate seamlessly and activated only in the presence of SENSE.
METRONIS-FLOW manages precision irrigation in each sector, opening and closing electrovalves only where and when necessary, based on real-time data. This ensures efficient water use and minimizes waste.
Feed with Intelligence: METRONIS-FEED

This is the final and most advanced module of the platform, available only when are installed both SENSE and FLOW.
With METRONIS-FEED, customers benefit from an intelligent fertigation unit capable of preparing and delivering optimized nutrient solutions. Water and fertilizers are dosed with extreme precision according to the actual crop requirements detected directly in the field.
The system’s decision-making core: Artificial Intelligence

L’Artificial Intelligence is the decision-making engine that connects and enhances FLOW and FEED, processing sensor data and optimizing:
- the composition and quantities of nutrient solutions
- the selection of irrigation sectors
- distribution timing, to reduce waste and environmental impact
All aimed at reducing resource consumption and improving agronomic performance.
Digital services for real-time control
In addition to the three core modules, METRONIS includes:
- Mobile App:for real-time monitoring, receiving AI-based recommendations, and manual intervention when necessary.
- Web Digital Twin:an interactive web-based system that enables users to track all field activities, monitor and control system status remotely, and access recommendations and data analytics based on collected data.
